It’s that time of the year again where my body braces for the overload of beer drinking, Oompah band dancing, and bratwurst eating — otherwise known as Oktoberfest! (Time to party!)
This annual German festival may be traditionally celebrated in Munich but we are in no way short of alternatives on our little island too.
We’ve all had a good year to re-fit into those dirndls and lederhosen so there’s no excuse to miss out on the celebrations. Here is your comprehensive Oktoberfest Guide 2016, where you should be at this entire month.
This larger than life celebration has found a new and bigger home this year, promising an even better experience for partygoers. An admission ticket will get you free flow beers (6pm to 12.30am) and an Oktoberfest Asia 500ml beer stein to drink from all that you can.
You’ll certainly feel like you’re in Germany when the Hofbrauhaus Band from Munich try to get you dancing on the tables. That is, if you’re not already too busy eating the gourmet Bavarian cuisine featured.

Chinatown is probably the last place you would expect to find German cuisine, and yet it’s home to a humble Wuerstelstand and Backstube (Sausage stand and Bakery) opened by Austrian Erich Pollski.
Here, it’s Oktoberfest all year long so there’s no better time than the present to make the trip down. Get the famous currywurst ($3.50) which is literally a bratwurst dressed in curry sauce. My German friends say it makes for great hangover food.
You’ll probably need this after all the beer you’re planning on consuming. Check out our full feature for more details.

How much? $7 – $15 per pax
