The restaurant is popular for the teppanyaki set menus offered, and don’t leave without trying the garlic fried rice that it serves. If you’re looking to have yummy teppanyaki that won’t break the bank, this is probably your best bet.

2. Express Teppanyaki
With several outlets around Singapore, Express Teppanyaki aims to reach out to the masses by bringing affordable teppanyaki into our daily lives. You can choose from the customised sets or a la carte ingredients.
The choice of ingredients include tenderloin, fish fillets, beef ribs and scallops, just to name a few. It can get quite crowded during dinner time though, so get there early to avoid the queue!
3. Ajiya Okonomiyaki
Ajiya Okonomiyaki is popular for its DIY okonomiyaki but you can also opt to have teppanyaki.
Choose from meats like the Kurobuta Pork ($22), US Short Prime Rib ($35) and Japanese Wagyu Beef ($48), then cook it yourself at the teppanyaki counter top or get the chef to cook it for you.
For those who choose not to sit by the teppanyaki table, the meats will be cooked and served on a plate before serving to you.

4. Teppan Bar Q
Chunks of sizzling meat on the teppan? YES PLEASE. Besides the usual teppanyaki, some recommended dishes at Teppan Bar Q include the vinegared octopus ($6), assorted oden ($15) and natto with yam ($5).
Teppan Bar Q also offers hotpots for two people to enjoy a meal together. The Hakata Gyoza Pot ($28.90 per pax, minimum two pax) comes served with Hakata boiled gyoza, cabbage, tofu, garlic slices and vegetables.
The broth packed with collagen is boiled for eight hours, making this quite a healthy option too.

5. Tokaikan Japanese Restaurant
Good news for East-dwellers! There is a newly opened teppanyaki restaurant along East Coast Road called Tokaikan Japanese Restaurant.
The restaurant offers a weekday lunch special (Tues – Fri) at $12.90+, where you get to choose from a selection of chicken, beef or pork to have cooked teppanyaki-style.
Besides teppanyaki, Tokaikan has a second level that is available as an event space, catering to a maximum of 30 pax. Did someone say office party?
6. Keyaki Japanese Restaurant
Located in Pan Pacific Hotel, Keyaki Japanese Restaurant offers an extensive menu consisting of a mix of set courses and a la carte dishes. Find a variety of omakase, kaiseki, teppanyaki, sashimi, appetisers, grilled dishes, sushi and fried dishes.
The Teppanyaki Prix Five is a selection of five set courses starting from $140. Each set comes with an amuse bouche, appetiser, salad, soup, choice of beef, fish or seafood and dessert.
If that’s not enough, try the a la carte dishes like the US Beef Tongue ($23 per 100g), Foie Gras ($28), Whole Lobster ($23 per 100g), Oysters ($22) and Garlic Fried Rice ($8). Not sure where to eat in Orchard Road without spending your entire month’s worthy of salary? Here’s another affordable teppanyaki stall situated in a Kopitiam at 313 Somerset.
Sit by the counter top and you get to watch the chefs in action, flipping and cooking your ingredients on the teppan. At an affordable $9, you can get the value meal with a choice of sliced beef, lamb or chicken.
The sets also come with bean sprouts, cabbage, rice and a soup of the day. Sounds good right?

If you happen to be in Japan Food Town at Wisma Atria, you should try Osaka Kitchen. The restaurant is famous for its teppanyaki and 9-course Omakase ($60 or $80). It’s also recently been named as one of the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants in Singapore!
Try the Bacon Teppanyaki ($15) or Chilli Flavoured Chicken Teppanyaki ($16) to experience very interesting flavour combinations. You can also choose more premium items like the Ohmi Wagyu Beef Sirloin Steak (seasonal price).
