The Clarke Quay vicinity welcomes yet another restaurant with the launch of Ember, a new open flame concept by Fleursophy Group.

Ember first opened its doors in early Sep 2023, and dons a cosy and warm appearance complete with dried flower arrangements and wood-themed furniture.

Ember’s dishes follow a woodfire cooking style, in which their food is cooked over a large open flame. Their Asian-Western menu largely consists of fancy ingredients like Wagyu beef, lobster and truffle, all priced relatively affordably.

To start, choose from Ember’s selection of carbs and snacks, such as the Muar Otah Sando (S$14), Taramasalata Crab Toast (S$16), which is topped with dollops of caviar, and the Salt & Pepper Squid (S$18). Beef lovers can opt for the Cured Yolk Steak Tartare (S$19) or Wagyu Beef Intercostal (S$22), served with ssamjang sauce.

How about some fresh produce to get your daily vegetable intake? Select from 3 of Ember’s veggie dishes, the Za’atar Roasted Pumpkin (S$16), Smoked Cauliflower (S$18) or Maitake Mushroom (S$18).

Ember’s entrées are not to be missed. The Halve Spatchcock (S$24) is a chicken dish served in white wine cream sauce, while the Five Spice Maple Duck Leg (S$30) combines this poultry meat with mac & cheese, making for a fancy yet comforting meal.

There’s nothing more I love than a good steak, so I’d love to try the selection of beef dishes on the menu, like the Wanderer Flat Iron Steak (S$34), served with horseradish germolata. As a truffle lover, I have my eyes on the 31 Days Smoked Truffle Butter Ribeye (250g++) (S$39) — truffle plus steak sounds like a heavenly combo.

Finally, the priciest item on Ember’s menu is the 45 Days Devesa Op Ribs (Bone In, 500g++), a hefty dish that comes in at S$88.

End your meal with either the Bourbon Carrot Cake (S$16) or Sphered Black Glutinous Rice (S$16). How divine!
