Goodwood Park Hotel delivers decadent Durian Fiesta 2021 till 1 Aug

The heat is on, and that only means one thing in the world of food—at least here in Singapore. The dry, hot spell also spells durian season, and Goodwood Park Hotel has returned with its annual Durian Fiesta 2021. Back with all-new durian delights, I’m so thrilled and fortunate to have a sampling of their brand new bites just at the start of this delicious season.

D24 Pandan Waffle Cake

From now till 1 August 2021, you can sink your teeth into their D24 Pandan Waffle Cake (S$85) which makes for a great alternative to traditional cake, if you’re celebrating with anyone who’s a durian fanatic.  The caramelised coconut sauce accentuates the durian’s sweetness while the gula melaka coconut crumble adds texture to this soft, airy creation.

Mini D24 Salted Caramel Delights

Another that surprisingly swept me off my feet was the Mini D24 Salted Caramel Delights (S$40 for six pieces), a union of sweet and salty that’s perfectly balanced with the cushion of almond sponge in its centre. Be sure to take your time with this treat; it’s mildly rich, but worth all the patience of savouring.

D24 & Sweet Potato in Chestnut Tartlets

D24 Kueh Dadar cross-section

One of the more colourful additions to this year’s Durian Fiesta 2021 is the D24 & Sweet Potato in Chestnut Tartlets (S$48 for six pieces). Crumbly and aptly sweet, the royal sweet purple potato puree tempers the durian’s sweetness—ideal for those who favour less-sweet renditions of King of Fruits desserts. They are also offering a twist on the traditional kueh dadar, with D24 Kueh Dadar (S$22 for two pieces, S$78 for eight pieces), a pandan-flavoured crepe filled to the seams with luscious D24 durian pulp, and freshly grated coconut cooked with gula Jawa (Indonesian coconut sugar).

Deep-fried D24 in Layered Flaky Pastry

Last, but not least, I have to praise the introduction of these crumbly, flaky goodies—Deep-fried D24 in Layered Flaky Pastry—exclusively available at Min Jiang (dine-in only). Silky D24 flesh greets you within the warm, buttery, and flaky pastry, rewarding you with a dessert so divine, I dare you to stop at one.

During the Durian Fiesta 2021, there are special offers awaiting you, one of which occurs from 8 to 31 March 2021. Featuring three new and three signature durian pastries, it is an indulgent collection of a piece or slice of D24 Trio Chocolate Cake, Mini D24 Salted Caramel Delight, D24 & Sweet Potato in Chestnut Tartlet, D24 Mousse Cake, D24 Puff, and D24 Crêpe.

Given that it’s the 38th anniversary of this annual durian tradition, Goodwood Park Hotel is showcasing selected favourites from past editions that have been dearly missed by durian fans. Reunite with four well-loved durian treats, available only for a month each, from April to July 2021. More details will be released closer to the date.

Also, for those who’ve been yearning for the return of ‘Mao Shan Wang’ Mousse Cake (S$78nett for 500g, S$156nett for 1kg), it’ll make its brief appearance from 1 May to 1 August 2021, along with ‘MaoShanWang’ PowerPuff (S$28nett per piece). Mark your calendars and place your order in a timely fashion for first dibs! For more information about Durian Fiesta 2021, head to their site here.
