When a restaurant goes international, you know it has to be good. Especially when they’re backed by consecutive Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. Ju Xing Home, a famous hole-in-the-wall from Hong Kong, will be opening their first overseas outlet at Ngee Ann City on 1 Dec.

As you may have already heard (perhaps because you read our previous article), Ju Xing Home regularly welcomes esteemed customers like Michelin-starred chefs, including Tim Ho Wan’s Mak Kwai Pui, Lung King Heen’s Chan Yan Tak and Ming Court’s Mango Tsang.

Those familiar with Hong Kong stars should also know that frequent visits from Jay Chou, Nicholas Tze, Alan Tham, Raymond Lam and Bosco Wong also make regular appearances.

What is it that keeps these celebrities returning for more? Ju Xing Home’s unpretentious zi char classics boast Cantonese stir-fries and serious Sichuan flavours with lashings of wok hei that are sure to delight many.

Sichuan Spicy Fried Chicken and Poached Chilli Beef will keep your palate on its toes with the addictive numbing spice characteristic of Sichuan favourites, courtesy of generous additions of chilli and peppercorns. Their signature Boiled Fish with Chilli Oil is dressed in its own cautionary sprinkling of red.

If you’d like to partake in seafood instead, Ju Xing Home has Lobster with Pan-fried Rice Vermicelli and Tiger Prawn with Pan-fried Rice Vermicelli, fresh from the tank just like in the original branch.

Bookings at their Hong Kong restaurant have to be made months in advance, so eager foodies might want to start drawing plans soon for visits to the new Ngee Ann City outlet.

Reservations can now be made through this link, while walk-ins are available from 1 Dec.
