If I had to pick something to eat for the rest of my life, the answer is, and always will be, cake. Whatever flavour, type, or topping, you name it, I’d happily pick up my fork and dig in. If you’re a proud member of the self-proclaimed cake connoisseur club, then it’s time to make plans to try out Queic by Olivia, Singapore’s first boutique cheesecake store located at Kreta Ayer Road.

Yes, the whole store is dedicated to cheesecake. They’ve already earned the ‘that’s pretty damn impressive’ eyebrow raise from me.

Launched by the folks behind Olivia Restaurant & Lounge Singapore, Queic promises a range of cakes in innovative flavours. Dessert enthusiasts can expect something extra—namely, the inclusion of cream and blue cheese in their cakes. It lends a more pronounced flavour profile and an unmatched level of decadent richness.

There’s a myriad of flavours to choose from, all of which comes in different portion sizes, perfect if you’re not the only cheesecake fiend in your house, and even if you are. A classic choice would be Olivia’s Homemade Cheesecake (S$17+)—what can go wrong with a crumbly almond sable and blue cheese with cream? Nothing, obviously.

Why stop there? Queic will keep you satisfied with their New York Cheesecake (S$50+), another staple flavour that’s practically guaranteed to make your cheat days worth it.

If you want to up the ante, then Queic’s Idiazabal Cheesecake (S$50+) is the way to go. It’s a pretty penny to drop on cake, but just thinking about how buttery and piquant the cake is going to taste is enough to convince me. You won’t often chance across idiazabal cheesecake offered in your regular bakeries, so why not take a step out of that comfort zone?

No cheesecake menu offering will be complete without a basque cheesecake, and Queic is no exception. Their Gateau Basque (S$45) features an almond pastry base and is filled with rum and vanilla pastry cream filling. The website said that this was good for four to six servings; does this mean I can eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two days straight?

I just know that my sweet, sweet, dreams are made of this.
