Ever wanted to try the famous flowing Japanese bamboo noodles but can’t find the time or money to travel all the way to Japan? Well, now it’s just a quick trip across the border because Samira by Asian Terrace has brought it to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Located near Kuala Lumpur City at Sentul West, the peaceful sanctuary is home to the flowing Japanese bamboo noodles that’s also known as Nagashi Somen (RM22.90++).
This includes five to seven rounds of somen for each person. Additionally, there’s always free-flow of shoyu (soy sauce), sesame and mashed ginger.
Nagashi somen are thin noodles that are enjoyed after you catch them flowing down a bamboo chute with ice-cold water. As funny as it sounds, you might need to train your chopstick skills for this playful dish because of how fast it flows down the bamboo slide.
This cold noodle dish is usually enjoyed during the summer months and in a natural, outdoor setting. Similarly at Samira by Asian Terrace, the seats are surrounded by lush greenery and could just be your retreat from all the hustle and bustle of the city.
If you’re one to be very particular about hygiene when it comes to sharing food, you’d probably be happy that Samira by Asian Terrace prides itself on strict hygiene rules.
The restaurant does not tolerate cross-picking and requests for customers to stick to their side of the bamboo slide and take their own somen.
Keen on putting your chopstick skills to test? The restaurant is currently also having an offer, with 30% off the total bill from now till 30 December 2019. Contemplate no further and head down today to Samira by Asian Terrace to “catch” some noodles!
