The M Plot is a newly opened patisserie at King Albert Park, and it specialises in macarons.

When I first heard that they offer a Salted Egg x Curry Macaron (S$3.50), my reaction was along the lines of shock and disbelief. I simply had to try out this crazy new flavour to see if it does justice to these flavours.

A small and unassuming exterior hides a leafy and spacious second-floor space.

I fell in love with the high ceilings as well as the art on the wall, which were all made by one of the partners who opened the store.

The Salted Egg x Curry Macaron came in a delightful hue of orange, which made it very appealing.

The salted egg taste was pretty strong, with the peppery curry flavours playing a complementary role. Slightly on the sweeter side, but I felt the flavour was executed pretty well without the macaron becoming cloying.

Overall, it’s pretty true to its name, and I honestly would get it again.

Apart from the Salted Egg x Curry Macaron, The M Plot also offer a wide range of other flavours. In fact, there are ten different and unique flavours on rotation at any one time!

When we went down, other interesting flavours we tried included their Thai Tea Macaron, which had a subtle milkiness and sweetness that kicked in after a while. I would also recommend trying out this flavor.

The M Plot also offers a special edition Big Macaron (S$8.50) which cannot be purchased at other stores in Singapore. We tried the Raspberry Rose Lychee Big Macaron (S$8.50) which was fruity and sweet.

Thick cream held the raspberries together, and while I could taste the raspberry and rose, the lychee was almost imperceptible.

I preferred the Chocolate Hazelnut Praline Big Macaron (S$8.50), which was nutty, thick and decadent. The fudgey praline was really enjoyable, and it contrasted nicely with the snap of the chocolate resting atop the macaron.

Whether you want to try out their crazy flavours for yourself, or if you want to get a delightful gift to a loved one, there’s going to be something for you at The M Plot.

Dates and Times: Now available, 11am – 10pm (Tue – Sun), Closed on Mon
