It appears that it is almost mandatory to add a local spin to whatever cuisine your restaurant is offering, just to shake it up for our local folks.

We are probably no strangers to Black Tap’s over the top CrazyShakes flooded with colourful toppings to which we jokingly termed as diabetes-inducing.

Experience Black Tap’s Singapore-exclusive items inspired by iconic local flavours from 1 April, including their all-new Chili Crab Sandwich (S$25++) and The Straits Shake (S$22).

The Chilli Crab Sandwich (S$25++), as you would expect, is the restaurant’s rendition of Singapore’s well-loved seafood dish re-packaged as a sandwich.

Instead of being doused in a sweet and spicy chilli crab sauce we are familiar with, a whole batter-fried soft shell crab sits atop Black Tap’s signature Martin’s Potato Bun instead.

Nostalgia can now be a drink. Their new milkshake addition appears to be a take on our well-loved cendolThe Straits Shake (S$22++). With the addition of gula melaka and coconut cream to the vanilla base, it’s only missing the iconic green cendol.

To stand on-par with Black Tap’s other gravity-defying milkshakes, this sweet treat also features old-school confectionaries such as pineapple jam biscuits, coconut butter biscuits and chocolate gems.

The limited edition Wonderland Shake (S$22++) draws inspiration from the children’s classic Alice’s Adventure In Wonderland. In line with ArtScience Museum’s ongoing Wonderland exhibition, it is available from 13 April to 22 September 2019.

The strawberry-base milkshake served in a vanilla frosted glass sure looks like an exciting cup housing the whimsical adventures of Alice, complete with a bright red “mushroom” cupcake.

Fans of their award-winning wings will now have an expanded snacks menu with three new delectable flavours to choose from — the Carolina BBQ Wings (S$13++), Mexican Hot Sauce Wings (S$13++) and Texan BBQ Wings (S$13++).

We reckon the Mexican Hot Sauce Wings are going to sit well with many, considering how it promises to be an exciting blend of spicy and savoury with blue cheese crumble and dressing as toppings.

You’re probably quite late to the game if you still haven’t tried Black Tap’s signature CrazyShakes since their arrival to MBS last year, but fret not, these new uniquely Singapore additions will give you every reason to try!
