In today’s fast-paced society, more and more people are gradually drifting away from traditional festivals and customs. Personally, I still make it a point to celebrate occasions like the Mid-Autumn Festival, believing that these cherished traditions deserve to be preserved rather than fade into existence. In this way, our culture isn’t entirely lost.

As an irritating little kid, I remembered bugging my late grandmother year after year to buy me one of those battery-powered lanterns with flashing lights and festive melodies, often decked in cool car or animal designs. My dad would also return home carrying a box of mini walnut mooncakes from the now-defunct Kia Hiang restaurant along Bukit Merah. Ahh… all those precious memories.
After savouring bite after bite of baked, flaky Teochew, and pillowy snow skin mooncakes, here’s my curated list of the 21 best mooncakes in Singapore 2026 for Mid-Autumn Festival.

1. Ding Bakery

During the Mid-Autumn festival, mooncake packaging from hotels is often elegant, intricate, and in a league of its own. Such quality and craftsmanship, however, usually comes with a hefty price tag. Thankfully, the 2026 mooncake collection from Ding Bakery delivers the grandeur of a luxury hotel gift set without the steep price.

It’s not all style and no substance, either. The mooncakes from Ding Bakery are handcrafted using only the finest ingredients, are lower in sugar, and contain no preservatives.

Customers can look forward to the extensive variety that includes premium traditional mooncakes, chilled snow skin flavours, lava snow skin, and Black Gold Mao Shan Wang durian snow skin cradled in seasonal-exclusive festive packaging.
The 2026 collection is inspired by the way Singaporeans celebrate Mid-Autumn through gift-giving. It’s common for us to buy several boxes in different configurations to present to parents, clients, friends, neighbours, and other loved ones, making versatility a key consideration.
The highlight of this year’s collection is the Build Your Own Mooncake Bundle.

11. Potters’ Table

2 ceramic artists, Chun and Yeu, got together in 2020 and created Potters’ Table when they realised that they had something in common. Both of them had the passion for creating and sharing things with those around them. They started with humble beginnings, making sourdough loaves and yam mooncakes from scratch. The business then gradually grew into an intimate private dining destination where culinary creations and handcrafted ceramics were presented at the same table.
These days, the founders have hung up their aprons and have gone back to their regular jobs. However, when the Mid-Autumn festival approaches yearly, they still make it a point of honing their mooncake craft.

Only premium ingredients such as olive oil, organic raw sugar and flour are utilised for their Teochew Yam Mooncake (S$60 for 4 pieces), and the owners make it for their own self-indulgence once in a blue moon! The yam paste is made from scratch using fresh yams with a splash of shallot oil for that extra oomph. Even the lard that they utilise for the crust is house-rendered for the utmost purity and quality (mad respect to these 2 gentlemen).
For maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended to reheat the mooncakes in the oven (instructions are provided!). The skin is delightfully flaky and the yam is unctuous with faint hints of lard. When paired with the salted egg yolk, the combination is sublime.
Do note that they have Pure Yam and Single Yolk options, which you can mix and match to your needs.

13. What Enny Made

What Enny Made is a home-based business, operated under-the-radar by none other than Enny, a humble and talented homemaker. She has been making mooncakes for over 8 years and didn’t graduate from any prestigious culinary school. Instead, she learned everything by herself, absorbing knowledge through interactions with others and online groups that focus on sharing mooncake crafting techniques.
From intricate flower designs to flaky agar agar mooncakes, she loves making beautiful masterpieces and deserves more recognition and exposure. Every couple of years, she changes the theme and design of her mooncakes.

This year, Enna launches the Lunar Collection 2026 (S$44), a 6-piece vegetarian-friendly mooncake collection that’s adorable, looking just like fruits and vegetables harvested from your own garden.

The flavours include Purple Yam, Oolong Rum Longan, Red Date, and Lotus Yam. Those who place their orders before 20 Aug 2026 will be eligible for the Early Bird 7% discount.
To place your order, send an email at [email protected] or give her a call at +65 9108 2389.

15. Tai Chong Kok

Since 1935, Tai Chong Kok has been a stalwart for Cantonese confections ranging from Chinese wedding cakes to cookies. If reliable quality is what you seek, then their lineup of hand-crafted mooncakes, prepared the same way for over 90 years, could be just what you’re after. Do you know that they’re one of the few Singaporean bakeries that still make their lotus paste from scratch? Only 100% pure lotus seeds are used, cooked slowly over hours without added preservatives.

Luckily, for salted egg lovers like myself, Tai Chong Kok has my favourite White Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with Two Yolks (S$76 for 4 pieces).
Available from 14 Aug 2026 onwards, the signature Mixed Nuts Mooncake (S$76 for 4 pieces), packed full of different ingredients including the premium Jinhua ham, is their best-seller. It retains the nostalgic flavours our grandparents grew up enjoying.
If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, you can savour the less-sugar Black Sesame Mooncake (S$68 for 4 pieces), Red Bean Paste Mooncake (S$62 for 4 pieces), or 8 Treasures Mooncake (available from 14 Aug) with traditional chinese nuts, berries, and a touch of lotus paste.

To make your gift more impactful and aesthetically pleasing, Tai Chong Kok introduces their new Add-On Packaging (+S$8), perfect for corporate gifting.

How to choose mooncakes for gifting or sharing
For traditional flavours and familiar formats, Ding Bakery, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, and Hong Kong MX suit recipients who prefer the classics, while Hai Tien Lo is more suited to those who enjoy Tea-flavoured mooncakes. For contemporary flavours, Peach Blossoms and Hua Ting Restaurant offer modern combinations, while Xin Cuisine takes a fruit-forward approach. Chateraise is a practical choice for lower-priced Japanese-style options, while Comvita suits shoppers seeking Halal-certified, lower-sugar mooncakes. The choice ultimately depends on flavour preference, dietary needs, gifting format and budget.
