Ever wondered how some of our favourite local desserts taste as cakes?
Satisfy your curiosity and tastebuds, because you can now get three different locally-inspired cakes from IKEA Singapore. They’re offering these cakes from now until 4 June 2019, just in time to celebrate the Raya festive season.
Choose from three tasty creations: the D24 Durian Chendol Cake (S$49 for 1.4kg), the Ondeh-Ondeh Cake (S$39 for 1.4kg) and the Pulut Hitam Cake (S$45 for 1.8kg). If you’re an IKEA FAMILY member, you can get S$5 off the retail price.
The D24 Durian Chendol Cake has layers of fluffy cake and what looks like durian-durian-infused cream. There’re even pandan jelly “noodles” sprinkled over the top of the cake. I would love to take a bite of this decadent creation!
If you prefer more pandan in your dessert, then the Ondeh-Ondeh Cake is perfect for you. This pandan cake comes with gula melaka and coconut shavings – it’s almost like a giant version of our usual mini ondeh-ondeh balls.
Don’t miss out on the Pulut Hitam Cake, a classic Peranakan dessert that’s now available in cake form. Made with sticky black glutinous rice and frosted around the sides with what looks like coconut cream, this is a rich post-dinner treat indeed.
Bring back a cake (or two!) to share the joy and calories with your loved ones.
Psst, IKEA Malaysia has these cakes too, so our friends across the Causeway don’t need to feel left out.
