[CLOSED] Wan Hao Yun Authentic Ipoh Cuisine serves curry chee cheong fun & Ipoh chicken rice

A few months ago, I wrote a list on the hidden eateries in industrial areas and I’ve chanced upon another one! Wan Hao Yun Authentic Ipoh Cuisine is located within the Maddox Canteen Bar at the Bukit Merah Industrial estate and opened its doors to the public in Dec 2022.

The chefs of the stall are native Malaysians from Ipoh, and have been working in Singapore for the past 20 years— you’re guaranteed that the dishes they serve are authentic.

If you’re in the vicinity during breakfast time, be sure to order the Chee Cheong Fun Curry (S$2.90) which has silky rice sheets paired with curry vegetables and chewy pig’s skin.

Another item to look out for is the Chee Cheong Fun Mushroom (S$2.90), which is paired with minced pork, sliced mushrooms and a random fried item of the day. Do note that both these dishes are only limited to 20 portions during the breakfast period.

Those who frequent Ipoh will probably know about their famous chicken rice, which is served with beansprouts. Besides Steam/Roasted Chicken Rice (S$4.50), you can get the Steam/Roasted Chicken Set A (S$6.50) which throws in a bowl of meat ball soup and plate of beansprouts.

If you like some spice, remember to pair the delectable chicken with their homemade chilli sauce.

What’s Ipoh cuisine without the iconic hor fun dishes? They have a few variations including Shredded Chicken Hor Fun (Dry/Soup) (S$4), Shredded Chicken Hor Fun + Meat Ball (Dry/Soup) (S$5), and Shredded Chicken Hor Fun + Prawn (Dry/Soup) (S$6).
