Treat yourself this festive season with The Dark Gallery’s limited edition Christmas range of chocolate desserts, available from 1 December 2017 onwards. Made from decadent dark chocolate paired with a shimmering hint of glamour, you can be sure that these sweet treats will fill your mouth with joy.

Aptly named The Lustre of Christmas, the menu promises a luxurious dessert experience.

The jewel-shaped Galaxy-Inspired Bonbons ($3.50 per piece, $31.50 in a Christmas giftbox of 9) are named after stars of the same hue. Light on the palate with subtle sweetness, the red star Kapteyn contains white chocolate with raspberry ganache and pop rocks.

The white star Arcturus is made of white chocolate with praline and toasted almond nibs, and skims your tongue with fragrant nutty sweetness. Finally, the blue star Vega completes the trio with dark chocolate paired with French Earl Grey ganache and peppermint bits.

What’s Christmas without log cake? The Dark Gallery presents log cake with a twist this holiday, combining ice cream and cake into one delicious dessert. The Pearlescent Dulcey Chocolate Log Cake ($89) is made of 32% dulcey white chocolate ice cream with dark chocolate cake and a Chantilly cream Swiss roll centre.

Topped with white chocolate perles, this Christmas dessert also has caramelised tulle, berries and even mini macarons. Get in the spirit of the season and share these luscious log cakes with your loved ones!

Speaking of sharing, the Christmas Pastries Platter ($14) may offer petite treats, but they’re rich enough to share. This festive platter comes with three delicate desserts.

The white chocolate rose tea éclair is subtly sweet, with a distinctive floral tea fragrance.

Likewise, the milk chocolate hazelnut chocolate espresso macaron crumbles into nutty flavour on your tongue.

Most exquisite of all is the dark chocolate raspberry brownie, a decadently moist chocolate confection with an almost liquid centre. The fresh berries atop the cake help to undercut the sweet richness.

The Dark Gallery Christmas Menu 2

If you’re in the mood for a Christmas caffeine fix, the Dulcey Chocolate Toffee Nut Latte ($10) is the perfect pick-me-up. Pour the double espresso shot and warm milk over frozen dulcey chocolate cubes for a bittersweet drink with a mellow nutty fragrance.

Their regular ice cream scoops are still on sale but during this festive season, you can spruce it up with Christmas toppings! I chose a Double Scoop ($9.50) with macarons and caramelised almonds.

Pairing a scoop of Single Origin 72% Venezuela Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt Butterscotch produced a great blend of complex bittersweet flavours. The macarons were a tad sweet for me, but the caramelised almonds added a tasty crunch to the ice cream.

These are but a few of the highlights you can expect from The Dark Gallery this festive season. With its classy decor and indulgent treats, it’s a perfect teatime break in between bouts of Christmas shopping.

For all us chocolate lovers, Christmas sure came early this year!
