If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love LiHo‘s new Taro Soy Latte Series.

They’re introducing the Original Taro Soy Latte (S$5.30/Medium, S$6.30/Large) and the Blossom Taro Soy Latte (S$5.80/Medium, S$6.80/Large), and both drinks come with Taro Balls. Looking pretty in purple, they’re sure to conquer both your taste buds and your heart.

Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out to be as purple as advertised. Visually, the two drinks look quite similar.

Luckily, the combination of yam and soy latte was a match made in heaven. Silky, smooth and luscious, every sip was delightful. The soy latte was aromatic and mildly sweet, blending with the mashed yam and taro pearls.

The mashed yam was also fragrant and creamy, with a good chewy texture. The Taro Balls actually reminded me of the tapoica jelly in bubur cha cha, which is usually chewy with a gelatinous finish.

The notable difference was the jasmine aroma in the Blossom Taro Soy Latte, which made it my favourite drink of the two.

Hands down, this was the best taro drink I have had. The flavours of the Taro Soy Latte Series tasted really authentic, and I really enjoyed the mashed yam.

I think I have found a new drink to add to my list of favourites!
