Located in the bustling food scene of Telok Ayer, French Fold is a chic cafe with verdant indoor plants, a sunroof for natural light to spill in, and homely furnishings.

Galettes are savoury pancakes made with buckwheat flour, folded around its ingredients to form four corners. The Galettes (S$8 to S$22) at French Fold are numbered on the menu, so you’ll order something like the No. 3 (S$15), with sautéed mushrooms, comté cheese and an organic egg sunny side up folded in a beautifully browned galette. How posh.

You shouldn’t leave without dessert. In fact, I’d be scandalised if you left without trying their Crepes (S$7 to S$11). Made with wheat flour, these delicately thin pancakes already promise to be as chewy and fragrant even while cooking on the crepe machine.

For S$12, indulge in a crepe decked with orange confit, white chocolate chips, black sesame, and dark chocolate sorbet.

Or, for a more earthy flavour profile, you could go for the Crepe with Artisanal Manuka honey, roasted buckwheat seeds and Hojicha seasalt ice cream (S$10).

If you’d like that extra chilled sweetness, you can top up S$4 for a scoop of Birds of Paradise gelato. The flavour options include Strawberry Basil, Dark Chocolate Sorbet and Hojicha Seasalt

French Fold plays a nifty scheduling game with their five different menus, so you’ll need some planning gymnastics to get to try the flavours you want.

Here are their weekday timings:

  • Breakfast (8am to 11am)
  • Lunch (11am to 4pm)
  • Afternoon (4pm to 6pm)
  • Dinner (6pm to 10.30pm)

On weekends, there’s also a Brunch menu available from 8am to 4pm.

With their unique concept and attractive dining space, I’d expect French Fold is going to fill up fast. Make a reservation for a fuss free dining experience.
