Just two years ago, we reviewed Reimondo Seafood Congee at Pasir Ris and their amazing congee. But now, we’ll be losing yet another amazing hawker on 30 May 2023 when the month draws to a close.

Reimondo Seafood Congee - Store front

Reimondo Seafood Congee previously closed their other outlet at Timbre+ in One North in 2022, leaving the Pasir Ris branch as the last one standing.

With the upcoming closure of store owner Raymond Tan’s congee venture, what remains of his business will be Sure Come Back Wanton Mee. That store is a revisit to Raymond’s hawker beginnings, where it all began.

His house-smoked char siew, fresh pork wanton and Malaysia-sourced duck egg noodles culminate in his creations at Sure Come Back Wanton Mee. If you’re looking for a real good wanton mee, check out Raymond’s wanton mee stall, located in the same hawker centre as Reimondo Seafood Congee.

Reimondo Seafood Congee - Tea Smoked Salmon & Seafood Congee

Reimondo Seafood Congee is famous for its generous ingredients, amazing wok hei and price for the quality of ingredients and food portion.

At S$6.90 for their velvety smooth Seafood Congee laden with fresh scallop, salmon flakes, prawns and la la, it makes for both a comforting and extremely hearty meal. The ingredients are fried in a wok to infuse the porridge with a good dose of wok hei, too.

Many also love their Tea Smoked Salmon (S$9.90), which is accompanied by a honey wasabi mayo sauce. Said to melt in the mouth and having an incredibly soft and moist texture, just writing about it makes my mouth water.

Before their final curtain call, make your way down to Reimondo Seafood Congee for some real good seafood congee at a price like no other. And for myself, I guess it’s time to make that cross-island expedition for a taste before the store closes at the end of the month.
