Malaysian brand Siong Tong Gai, famed for its delectable steamed fish and seafood dishes, recently opened its very first outlet in Singapore in June 2024. While known for their seafood in broth (the founders have worked on the recipe for over 3 decades!), they also offer various zi char favourites.

The restaurant is debuting new additions to its menu, which adds even more variety to their already impressive selection of dishes.

siong tong gai - golden crispy chicken drumettes

The Golden Crispy Chicken Drumettes (S$18.80) features the best of both worlds – this is Siong Tong Gai’s take on Korean-style fried chicken, with drummettes and midwings prepared in 2 different flavours. Enjoy the slightly sweet drummettes, conveniently prepared in bite-sized lollipops before sinking your teeth into the crispy, savoury midwings.

Can’t decide what you’d rather have? The Double Delight Pork Chop (S$18.80) takes care of that for you. This dish presents two incredibly tender pork chops with a crisp batter and doused in two different sauces. One is a lemon mayonnaise, and the other is a sweet and sour-inspired number. Great way to have your cake and eat it too.

The Stir-Fried Pork with Green Pepper (S$18.80) stars finely cut strips of tender pork stir-fried with strips of green pepper. There’s just a little hint of chilli to give it that extra kick of spice. This savoury combination goes great with a bowl of warm rice.

siong tong gai - signature 3 treasure with patin

And of course, when you go to Siong Tong Gai, you can’t not have their Signature Three Treasure (S$35 per pax, min 2 pax). This heartwarming dish features choice seafood such as squid, clams and prawns in a savoury broth filled with ginger, garlic and just a hint of chilli.

You can also choose from different live fish to complete the combo. We had Patin fish (S$8.80/100g), but you can also choose from others like Soon Hock, Grouper and Jade Perch. Price will vary depending on the type of fish chosen.

Round off the meal with classics such as their highly popular Sweet and Sour Popcorn Pork (S$20.80), Crispy Homemade Tofu with Minced Meat (S$13.80), and Fried Prawns with Soy Sauce (S$28.80)

Siong Tong Gai is also running a promotion: From 28 Oct to 28 Nov, enjoy selected à la carte dishes at only S$1 with purchase of any Signature Steamed Dishes. Options include Sweet and Sour Popcorn Pork, Deep Fried Pork Belly, Poached Lady Finger and more. Offer is only valid during weekdays, excluding Fridays. Note that the promotion is limited to one dish per table per bill, and other T&Cs apply.
