The food centre reopened on 20 May, and you may want to visit soon to use up your S$10 dining vouchers!

Dining vouchers? Yes! Member of Parliament (MP) for East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC) Tan Kiat How announced on social media that from 22 May, S$10 voucher booklets will be available to all Singapore residents for redemption.

These vouchers will be valid from 23 May to 7 Jun, at stalls with the “Still Safe To Eat, Still Safe To Meet” sticker pasted on it.

To collect your vouchers, you can drop by a Getai event at Blk 216 from 6pm to 9.30pm on 22 May. The event is organised by hawkers and merchants at Blk 216 to encourage more visitors!

Alternatively, you can collect your vouchers from 23 May at the Kampong Chai Chee Community Club (CC) counter from 10am to 6pm. Don’t wait too long because stocks are limited!

The deep cleaning operation and dining vouchers are measures to encourage more visits to Blk 216 Bedok Food Centre, following public concern over the recent TB cases.

Despite repeated assurances by Ministers that it is safe to visit the centre, the public has remained cautious about visiting the food centre, which has impacted hawker and merchant businesses.

On his social media channels, fellow East Coast GRC MP Edwin Tong encouraged residents and patrons to return to the hawker centre to support the hawkers and merchants there.

If you’re planning to visit Bedok anytime soon, you can redeem your dining vouchers and visit Blk 216 Bedok Food Centre. There are many good hawker stalls, including the one below!

I can't cook, but I can eat and tell you if the food is good. I love almost everything that goes with coriander, spring onions or vinegar, but absolutely hate ginger and garlic.
