If you’ve travelled to Japan, you have probably heard of Hama-Sushi. Well, I’ve got some good news: Hama-Sushi will open its first-ever Singapore outlet at Pasir Ris Mall in Nov 2026. If you’re a fan of affordable Japanese sushi, especially when it’s served on a conveyor belt, you’ll definitely want to check Hama-Sushi out once they open their doors.
The Japanese chain operates under Zensho Holdings, known for other brands such as Sukiya and Coco’s. Zensho Holdings describes Hama-Sushi’s concept as a “straight lane” conveyor system. Their system sends freshly prepared dishes directly from the kitchen to guests’ tables.
The chain is famed for offering affordable prices in casual dining settings. According to its Japanese website, its sushi plates start from JP¥110. This is approximately S$0.89 as of the writing of this article. This is based on the pricing listed in Japan. We’ll have to wait for Hama-Sushi to announce its Singapore prices, and hopefully it’ll be just as affordable.
Besides sushi, its Japanese menu also serves dishes such as ramen, udon and miso soup. There are even desserts and alcohol on its Japanese menu.
Plus, Hama-Sushi seems to be preparing for further expansion in Singapore. After some sleuthing, I found recruitment listings for positions at Suntec City. Fingers crossed that a Suntec City outlet could be in the works. Do note that Hama-Sushi has not announced an official opening date for the Pasir Ris Mall outlet or confirmed the potential Suntec City outlet at time of writing.
I’m excited to see how Hama-Sushi fares against the sea of Japanese sushi conveyor belt restaurants in Singapore. For anyone who already knows the chain from its outlets in Japan, its arrival here will certainly be one to keep an eye out for.
