Newsflash alert! A&W has officially confirmed its return to Singapore sometime in 2018. You know what that means? No more travelling across the border to get your root beer and coney dog fix. We’ve got them right here!
Unbeknownst to some, A&W could be considered the parent of all fast food chains in Singapore, being the first fast-food restaurant to open here in the 1960s, paving the way for other fast food chains in the country.
It’s finally back again after 14 years! And we are thrilled to be able to quench our afternoon thirst with frosty cold root beers and ice cream floats. *YUMS*
Besides the signature root beer floats, A&W also prides itself on its one-of-a-kind coney dog, topped with the franchises’ own meaty chilli sauce and sweet onions.
Of course, not forgetting the ice cream waffles that would satisfy any sweet tooth out there.
According to A&W CEO Kevin Bazner, the company has already had an office here since 2016, and have plans to open at least 40 new outlets across Southeast Asia with its flagship store based in Singapore. That could only mean the official opening date is drawing near.
They say good things are worth the wait and this 14-year wait has definitely been worth it. Stay tuned for more details that will be released at a closer date!
Dates: Second-half of 2018
