Ah Ma Chi Mian (阿嬤吃麵) first started its operations at a coffeeshop stall at Hougang Ave 8 on 3 March 2020. Over recent years, they have expanded to over 11 outlets islandwide, which are mostly located at coffeeshops and shopping mall food courts. Now, they are opening their 12th outlet, which is also their first official restaurant, at Bukit Panjang Plaza on 24 June 2022.
My first encounter with Ah Ma Chi Mian was at Waterway Point’s food court. They specialise in Teochew-style minced meat noodles and meatballs.
Their new Bukit Panjang outlet will be able to seat about 44 patrons, and will feature all of their existing best sellers such as Ah Ma Specialty Noodle, Signature Premium Scallop Fried Mee Sua, Teochew Handmade Fish Dumplings (Dry/Soup), and Specialty Pork Liver (Dry/Soup).
A new item, Yuan Yang King would be added to the menu. It consists of their signature dry noodles served with their Specialty Yuan Yang, which is a soup that has fishballs, meatballs and “pissing” meatballs— a double-layered meatball with juicy filling.
Local celebrity and film director, Jack Neo, became the brand ambassador for Ah Ma Chi Mian, whose screen portrayal of the character “Liang Po Po” seems to resemble the old lady being used in their brand logo. He will be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony during the grand opening— date is yet to be confirmed.
