After everything that went down at Good Vibes Festival on Fri night, 21 July 2023, Malaysians were left in the dust regarding the future of international concerts in the country. However, Alan Walker superfans were more than thrilled to hear that the grand finale of Norwegian DJ and music producer’s Walkerverse World Tour will end off with a bang (and probably some laser lights) in Kuala Lumpur.

The concert is set to take place on 17 Sep 2023 at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil. Tickets for his show go on sale on 9 Aug at 2pm, so be sure to set your alarms! Fans can purchase tickets for prices starting from RM258 to RM788.

You’ve definitely heard his hit song Faded on the radio before— it has over 3.4 billion views on YouTube alongside 1.7 billion streams on Spotify. Although the song was released in 2015, Walker didn’t come out with a full-length album till 2018

Soon after the whole The 1975 debacle, the government annouced that they’d be tightening the rules regarding the acts that are allowed to perform in Malaysia. This left both event organisers and goers worried. In fact, fans of American singer-songwriter Lauv received an email on 2 Aug that both of his sold out shows in KL had been cancelled. Although it was stated that this cancellation is due to “unforseen circumstances”, many suspect that this had something to do with the aforementioned fiasco.

There are still some acts who have received the green light to perform here. On 29 Jul, rock band Muse graced the stage of Malaysia’s national stadium. Being the only stop in the whole of Asia, the stadium was filled with fans from all over the world. There have even been rumours going around that the same organisers for this event will be bringing My Chemical Romance to KL soon.

Reknowned rapper Tyga is also scheduled to perform in Zepp Kuala Lumpur on 9 Aug of this year.
