Animation lovers, pack your bags and head to Animation Nation Festival 2026 this weekend. The festival returns on 10 and 11 Oct 2026 at Alliance Française de Singapour. There will be exclusive Singapore premieres and showcases featuring emerging local creators. This event is organised by the Singapore Film Society and supported in partnership with SIFT. This year is its second edition, bringing together independent French and international animated works.
Students’ and seniors’ ticket prices start at S$8.50, while the general public’s ticket prices start at S$16. If you’re an Alliance Française member — hooray — your ticket is discounted and will cost S$14.50.

The 2-day programme kicks off on Sat, 10 Oct 2026 with NTU ADM BOFAS 2026 Journey on Animation and Game Screening at 2pm. Additionally, this screening spotlights animation and game works by students from Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media.

There will be 2 films you can enjoy on Sat, at 4pm and 6pm. At 4pm, enjoy the feature documentary, Walking with Animators. The filmmakers spent a whopping 8 years filming this documentary across various countries. Through its showcase of the history, creative philosophies, and artistry across various animation styles, you’ll be able to gain insight into the extraordinary craft that is animation.

But wait, don’t head home yet; catch Lucy Lost at 6pm. It’s a computer animation based on the novel Listen to the Moon by Michael Morpurgo. If you love a good adventure movie, this is definitely the one to watch with the mysterious amnesiac protagonist — Lucy — discovering her powers.

Sun, 11 Oct 2026 has 2 movie screenings: Yugly and Dandelion’s Odyssey. Yugly will air at 3pm and is my personal top pick. It follows an exceptionally ugly (their words, not mine) stray dog who yearns to compete in the prestigious “Best in Dog Show”. Watch as he defies all odds on his journey, highlighting how everyone deserves a chance to shine.

The last film you can catch is Dandelion’s Odyssey at 5pm. This movie is a little on the unconventional side, with no dialogue at all. It tells the story of 4 dandelion seeds which crash-landed on a peculiar planet. Told through macro time-lapse and drone photography, if you’re seeking a silent film, this is the one for you.
