A few months ago, we were stoked when we heard Artbox, the highly raved hipster market from Bangkok is coming to Singapore. And it has finally reached the shores of Singapore!
Happening on just two weekends at Marina Bayfront, 14-16 April, and 21-23 April 2017 from 3pm – 11pm, Artbox Singapore is Singapore’s first and largest creative market.
Just like everyone else, we were one of the many excited people that went down on the first day. There was already a massive crowd of people before all the vendors have set up their booths.
Unfortunately, a downpour strikes at the first few hours of opening and left many drenched. It was rather disappointing as Artbox did not provide a wet weather plan.
So, we recommend dressing comfortably as Artbox is gonna be packed even after it’s first week, and bring along an umbrella or raincoat in case it rains.
Interesting Booths Feature Local & Foreign Brands
You’ll get to immerse yourself in the variety of vendors from beauty, fashion, food, even the art sector. With over 500 unique vendors and partners, of which a quarter of vendors comes from Thailand and Indonesia, you’ll get to enjoy a mixture of both foreign and local brands.
Some of the few interesting booths we saw do Instagram printing, hair cutting services, and customised desk plants.
Hungry while exploring? Fret not, grab your food and chill out on hammocks courtesy of Airmocks, or dine on wooden pallets under the cool shade of beach umbrellas courtesy of Hipvan.
You’ll be spoilt for choices at the different varieties of food, but do note that the queuing will take a while.
With all the cool features at Artbox, your #OOTD will be the talk of the town. Get your cameras armed and charged because there will be vintage cars from Kombirock to swag up your photos, and 5000 beautiful fairy lights spanned across 3 km for you to nail that perfect shot.
While you browse and shop, be entertained by the performances from local busker Ken Low, and teleport yourself to Bangkok with a slew of Thai entertainment.
For those looking for awesome gifts, Artbox is a great place to sweep up some; get your hands on limited edition Artbox Singapore merchandise such as tote bags and water bottles. You’ll be happy to know that the booths offers cashless payment options, making it really convenient to shop.
Artbox Singapore is held at Bayfront Event Space, next to the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, and is easily accessible from Bayfront MRT station.
If you have yet to visit Artbox, fret not, there is still one more weekend available. For those who visited on the first week, you’ll find that some of the stall vendors will be different.
Artbox might be overly crowded so brace yourself for it, I heard the peak hours are from 5pm to 8pm, so come before or after those timings.
