South Korea’s largest fried chicken chain, BHC Chicken, has just opened their 3rd outlet in Star Vista! This is the brand’s first outlet in the West, so lucky Westies no longer have to travel all the way across Singapore to enjoy their favourite Korean Fried Chicken.

BHC Chicken Star Vista - outlet

To celebrate the opening, BHC Chicken is featuring a few must-try dishes exclusive to their Star Vista outlet. This includes a chicken flavour that, up till now, could only be found in Thailand.

BHC Chicken Star Vista - mala khan

I speak of their Mala Khan-flavoured Korean Fried Chicken, BHC Chicken’s take on numbingly good mala chicken. Each piece is coated in the brand’s special K-Mala sauce that glimmers a translucent red. I’ll be the first to admit that I was rather intimidated by the strong redness of the chicken.

You’ll be surprised to hear that the Mala Khan chicken isn’t initially all that spicy. Each piece has quite a savoury bite that seeps juices from the chicken all into your mouth. Of course, then the mala heat kicks in, and you’re left struggling to maintain your composure as I did.

The Mala Khan chicken will be offered in 4 sizes: Whole (S$34.90 for 14pcs)Half (S$21.90 for 7pcs)Wings (S$30.90 for 14pcs) and Boneless Thighs (S$18.90).

BHC Chicken Star Vista - macho king rice ball bowl

Another fun dish that’s exclusive to the Star Vista outlet is the Macho King Rice Ball (S$13.90). You may wonder, where are the rice balls? In a fun twist, the rice balls are D.I.Y!

You begin by injecting Macho King sauce into the rice, which is a mix of soy and honey sauces. The tiny vial embedded in the rice makes the process very fun.

After that, you put on the gloves provided and start mixing! Using both your hands, you combine the rice, seaweed, and savoury pork in a delicious bibimbap-like mixture. This is then separated into bite-sized rice balls.

Imagine mixing the rice with your crush, and suddenly your hand touches theirs, how romantic.

BHC Chicken Star Vista - Jjapagetti Ramyun

The third and final outlet-exclusive dish is the Jjapagetti Ramyun (S$16.90), which is ramyun noodles coated in comforting black bean sauce, truffle oil, and melted cheese.

I enjoyed how firm and thick the noodles were, as not many places nail that al dente sweet spot. The truffle flavour also isn’t too intense, so people who dislike it don’t have anything to fear.

To celebrate their opening, BHC Chicken is offering the Star Vista Bundle (S$25.90, U.P. S$31.80) that comes with Boneless Mala Khan Chicken, BHC Chicken’s signature Cheese Balls, and a drink of your choice.

From now till 10 Nov 2025, each purchase enters you into a lucky draw where you stand to win prizes like merchandise, vouchers, and more! The grand prize? Tickets to see the hottest K-pop girl group coming to Singapore (that definitely isn’t Blackpink).
