During this Circuit Breaker, it’s best not to leave the house unnecessarily. Many are starting to question things that are considered to be essentials. That begs the question—is getting bread for breakfast an essential activity?
For my fellow Bishan buddies, you don’t have to worry about leaving the house and walking all the way to the shopping mall just to get your breakfast fix. BreadTalk Singapore debuted their new “Flossmobile”, the first-ever mobile bakery in Singapore, on 11 May 2020.
Through this initiative, BreadTalk Singapore hopes to engage more with their customers amidst this COVID-19 pandemic. They have also been working with Bishan Community Club to contribute their bakes to local households living within the district, especially those who may be facing financial difficulties during these trying times.
In their pilot initiative, they have managed to cover four locations in two days. In the Bishan and Ang Mo Kio area for the past few days, the Flossmobile offered an assortment of their famous bread and even some food items from the Toast Box menu!
What’s more, senior citizens above 65 years old also get to receive a complimentary pack of toast and hand sanitiser with any purchase from the mobile bakery. Identification (Pioneer Generation Card) will be needed for the redemption of the free toast, and it is limited to one packet to a customer per day.
Please do not forget to wear your masks when you’re buying from the Flossmobile. Do keep a lookout on BreadTalk Singapore’s Facebook page to be updated on where the Flossmobile is heading to next!
Remember to practice safe distancing while you’re out of the house, and stay safe!
