Boba this, boba that. It seems like the trend of adding boba pearls to everything isn’t going to die down anytime soon.
If you think you’ve seen all the boba-related food products there possibly is, think again. Casahana is a wholesale bakery based in Malaysia which has come up with a new boba food item for all you bubble tea lovers.
For this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, they’ve collaborated with iCraveDurians to launch some unique mooncakes—Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea Mooncakes (S$29.90 for a box of 4, U.P. S$46.20). The mooncakes are now available, while stocks last, exclusively on Qoo10.
The mooncakes come in a beautiful tin box with extremely adorable designs that showcase the spirit of Mid-Autumn Festival.
The mooncakes are also packed individually so you can either gift the entire box or share one box amongst your friends.
Upon opening the packaging, I noticed that the texture of the mooncake skin is neither snow skin nor the traditional baked skin. Instead, it’s actually tea-baked skin. The texture was extremely smooth and soft like a snow skin mooncake but it kept its shape better, like clay or Play-Doh.
As I cut a small piece, the brown sugar pearls oozed out, together with the brown sugar lava.
When we bit into it, we were surprised at how much the taste resembled the actual milk tea. The brown sugar pearls were also chewy and provided a different texture that you don’t usually find in a mooncake.
If you want an alternative to the usual mooncake flavours, why not get one that’s made with your favourite brown sugar milk tea? You can now order Casahana x iCraveDurians’ Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea Mooncakes (S$29.90 for a box of 4, U.P. S$46.20) on Qoo10.
Although there is currently no limited time for the purchase, the product will only be available while stocks last so hurry and grab yourself a box or two this Mid-Autumn Festival!
