Chickita got its start in 2019 when it was founded by Mr Asif Mehrudeen in Ho Chi Minh City. A cook with almost 2 decades of experience in Southeast Asian cuisine, his long-time dream was to have his own flame-grilled chicken story and create a haven for food lovers who want fun, high-quality, and healthful culinary experiences.

The name Chickita is a portmanteau of “chick” and “kita”, and together it means “Come together for chicken”. “Kita” is derived from Bahasa, and is often used in the phrase “let’s meet together”. This also highlights the brand’s ethos of focusing on communal dining and togetherness, which are key pillars of Asian culture.

Through extensive research and trials, precise cooking temperatures are used to ensure the chickens are consistently naturally smoky, golden on the outside and tender and juicy within. Diners can choose from either the whole bird, or various cuts (leg, breast, and chicken tenders).

The perfectly-cooked birds are served with Chickita’s signature sauces that range from mild to spicy, made with ingredients such as lemongrass, lime leaves and chillies that reflect Southeast Asia’s vibrant flavour profiles.

Apart from chicken, Chickita’s menu will feature other mains and sides, such as burgers, wraps and wings. These are also prepared with the same signature flame-grilled techniques. There’s also dips for sharing, tacos, salad and rice bowls.

21 Dec 2024: 40% off full menu items
