The Year of the Dog is upon us, and with a plethora of canine-inspired lunar new year decorations, just as much thought needs to go into the feasting! It’s almost as though the festive season never really left us (Christmas was barely a few weeks ago!), but if there’s one thing we Singaporeans can’t get enough of, it’s great food and even greater deals.
HSBC is extending some sweet offers to its cardholders which you won’t want to miss out on, whether you’re planning to go big at a banquet or keep it simple and cosy at the crib. Here are eight dining and takeaway offers that we’re sure are paw-some enough for your Chinese New Year celebrations!
1. Hai Tien Lo, Pan Pacific Singapore
If you need an extra hand preparing platters for the Chinese New Year Eve’s feast, then Hai Tien Lo at Pan Pacific Singapore will have you covered with their Traditional Treasure Pots (Poon Choy), Yu Sheng Platters and other Chinese New Year barbecued treats.

2. York Hotel Singapore
This Lunar New Year, indulge your loved ones with York Hotel Singapore’s auspicious takeaway culinary treasures such as the Prosperity Lo Hei with Mini Abalone ($52+/$62+) and ‘Fa Cai’ Eight Treasure Chicken ($62+). In addition, they are also offering the Premium Braised Pen Cai ($228/$348+) which is a signature dish during the Lunar New Year season. It is served with in a casserole pot with scrumptious layers of abalone, fish maw, conpoy, roasted pork belly, dried oyster, sea cucumber, prawns, roasted chicken, and chicken feet braised together to create a mouth-watering dish for the whole family.
HSBC is holding a promotion from 9 February to 2 March 2018 that entitles its cardholders to 10% off York Hotel’s Chinese New Year takeaway items. A gentle reminder, three (3) working days’ notice is required if you wish to order the Premium Braised Pen Cai and Prosperity Treasures Combo.
3. Regent Singapore, A Four Seasons Hotel
Enjoy one-of-a-kind Fortune Set Menus, specially crafted by one Michelin-starred Summer Palace. Available from 5 January to 2 March 2018, these nine sets – starting from $168 per person for a five-course meal – will showcase the refined talents and tastes of Regent Singapore’s esteemed chefs, to make your reunion dinner an unforgettable one.
Should you insist on turning your humble home into your reunion venue, then treat your family to takeaway specialities (available 25 January to 15 February 2018), such as Whole Sucking Pig ($308), Prosperity Meat Platter ($50) and Nian Gao Fish ($38). The Prosperity Meat Platter is a dish not be missed as it comes with a trio of soya chicken, roast duck and honey-glazed barbecue pork. Sweet delights are also available, ranging from familiar favourites like Love Letters ($30), Kueh Bangkit ($28) to more novel creations like Red Sea Salt Cranberry Cookies ($28) and Charcoal Love Letters ($33).
What’s more, pay using your HSBC card, and stand to get 10% Chinese New Year goodies and hampers and 15% off Chinese New Year set menus. On top of that, receive a complimentary Nian Gao set when you spend more than $1,588 nett from 5 February to 2 March 2018.
4. Park Hotel Clarke Quay

You’ll be in for great deals with HSBC as they are extending a 15% discount off Chinese New Year takeaways from Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant from 1 February to 2 March 2018. These treats include Traditional “Nian Gao” with Red Dates and Lotus Seeds ($50), Lobster and Abalone Fortune Pot ($398 for six persons) and Loh Hei platters starting from as low as $55.
Free yourself and the family from the hassle of cooking by holding your reunion dinner at The Dining Room. With HSBC, you’ll get 15% off their Prelude to Chinese New Year Lunch Buffet, priced at $68++ for adults and $34++ for children. Running from 1 to 15 February 2018, from 12pm – 2.30pm, revel in an array of enticing highlights like Crabmeat Mee Sua, Lobster Laksa Lemak, Slow-Braised Bordelaise Beef, Salted Egg Yolk Mud Crab and an assortment of festive pastries.
Meat lovers will love the various live stations for premium roasts like the Roasted Angus Striploin with Crispy Butter Cereal and Slow Roasted Mongolian Lamb Leg. Be sure to make your bookings early, as the promotion will only be valid from 5 to 9, and 12 to 15 February 2018.
6. Goodwood Park Hotel
Let Goodwood Park Hotel add some sweetness to your celebrations as you usher in the Year of the Dog with their new sweets takeaway at The Deli. The Huat! Tart ($48 nett for 500g) is a giant version of the bite-sized festive treat, made with fresh pineapple reduction, infused with vanilla. Dig into crunchy, irresistible Salted Egg Yolk Yam Chips with Sichuan Spice ($36.80 nett per jar), topped with Chef’s addictive ‘Mala’ (spicy Sichuan spices) seasoning.
Their in-house made buttery Pineapple Ingot Tarts ($38 nett for 10 pieces) will melt the hearts of your guests, along with the Tree Of Blossoming Treasures ($98 nett for one kilogram) that’ll be the talk of your gathering, with a 28-centimetre ‘tree’ made with a vanilla pound cake ingot base that supports several branches with hanging mini ingots made of fondant and chocolate.
Back again this year, crowd-favourite Goodwood ‘Bak Kwa’ ($56 nett for 600g/$88 nett for 1kg) is as tantalising as ever with its special blend of spices and seasoning.
