We’re no strangers to Enjoy Eating House & Bar. It’s been over a year since they left us swooning with their vibrant, hearty plates of wok-tossed delights at Jalan Besar. But it’s 2021 now, and Chef Joel Ong has since expanded into their new flagship space at Stevens. Of course, the decor here is still wholly punchy, fun, and portrayed with a splash of nostalgia.

In tandem with the opening of their new home at Stevens, Enjoy Eating House has put forth an exclusive 10-course local experience high tea set (S$30 per pax). Wow, that name is a mouthful. And so are their dishes. You might want to skip breakfast and lunch for this meal. Lasting from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on weekdays, diners can look forward to an afternoon of indulgence with a flurry of carefully prepared dishes in this special tasting menu. Do note that this promotion is exclusive to their Stevens outlet.

Kick things off with some of their Hand-rolled Chinese Ngoh Hiang, which boasts a tasty wrapper of beancurd skin and minced meat filling. Elsewhere, a House Braised Kong Bak Bao grapples the heart with a slab of braised pork belly between plush buns. This definitely isn’t your traditional high tea with tarts and pastries. Over at Enjoy Eating House, they are all about stuffing ourselves silly with traditional favourites, just like grandma used to make them.

Of course, some of our personal favourites make an appearance in this high tea set. The Fried Mantou with Singapore Style Chilli Crab Sauce is a pared-down iteration of the restaurant’s signature Singapore Style Chilli Prawns on their main menu. Here, they keep it simple with a sauce and mantou pairing so you can dip away without a care in the world. You don’t even have to share it with anybody else.

On the dessert side of things, nothing hits closer to home than a taste of the Chendol Panna Cotta. The familiar green pandan noodles are all made in-house, and it sits atop a sweet coconut cream pudding that’s soft, gently sweet, and beautifully fragrant. You’d be hard-pressed to find chendol like this anywhere else in Singapore.
