Curry puffs are a staple pastry in Singapore. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find curry puff stalls in malls, coffeeshops and town squares. So what is it about Fang Handmade Curry Puff that makes them stand out from the densely populated curry puff crowd?

Located in a humble coffee shop in Ubi, Fang Handmade Curry Puff may appear to be just another regular curry puff stall, until you notice the unique puff flavours displayed on the signboard above their stall.

Aside from selling traditional puff flavours, Fang Handmade Curry Puff also has a small selection of more unique offerings, namely, their popular Salted Egg Lava Puff (S$1.50).

The Salted Egg Lava Puff features molten salted egg filling encased within a crispy, flaky puff pastry. With an oozy filling that flows out like lava from a volcano, this puff definitely lives up to its name.

Meanwhile, the BBQ Chicken Char Siew Puff (S$1.50) contains generous amounts of tender char siew meat in a pool of sweet sauce. The Mayo Tuna Puff (S$1.40), on the other hand, is stuffed with a creamy tuna mayonnaise filling.

If you’d prefer a more traditional option, try their Curry Chicken Puff (S$1.40), containing chunks of curried chicken, potato cubes and a piece of hard-boiled egg. If you’re more inclined towards seafood, you can enjoy their Sardine Puff (S$1.40), with sardines swimming in a glistening red sauce.

I tried these puffs back in March 2022 and I must admit, though I would never usually willingly travel down to the industrial building hotspot that is Ubi, Fang Handmade Curry Puff impressed me enough with its affordable yet quality puffs that I would make a special trip down just to buy them again.

Fang Handmade Curry Puff is located in the coffee shop at Zervex Building in Ubi, so be sure to get your curry puff fix whenever you’re in the area!
