Singapore’s longest-running topical comedy, Fat Kids Are Harder To Kidnap, returns in Oct 2026 for its 18th year. The show will take place 16 – 18 Oct and 23 – 25 Oct. The show will bring an unpredictable hour of laughter to Wild Rice’s Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre at Funan.
If you haven’t used your SG Culture Pass credits, good news: you can use them to watch Fat Kids Are Harder To Kidnap 2026. Otherwise, tickets cost S$38 (including a S$3 BookMyShow booking fee). The shows on 16 & 23 Oct will start at 7.30pm. There’ll be 2 showtimes — 3pm and 7.30pm — on 17, 18, 24 & 25 Oct.
You’ll enjoy a show chock-full of references to the trendiest, most current affairs, as the writers work on the 2026 script right up to opening night. You’ll see sketches covering topics such as the attack on the elderly man at Roxy Square, Singapore’s efforts to raise the fertility rate and the World Cup’s most iconic moments.
The show’s format has the actors perform 31 short plays within an hour. Yes, an hour. The only caveat is that it really depends on the audience themselves. Basically, the numbers 1 to 31 will be strung up on stage, with your programme listing all 31 plays. After a specific play ends, the actors will shout “Next!” and the room should erupt with people shouting the number of the play they wish to watch.
There’s no time for dilly-dallying; a countdown clock will run for the whole duration of the show. If the audience and performers don’t manage to get through all 31 plays, the remainder stay unseen.
Plus, the order in which the sketches are performed also changes based on what the audience picks, making each show a different experience.
