Sweet and sour Hi-Chew Candies have always been reminiscent of sneakily eating a few in classes just to stay awake.
Japanese confectionery company, Moringa, released a sensational Hi-Chew inspired ice-cream bar back in 2017 that is now making a comeback in Taiwan.
There are plentiful grape flavoured candies we enjoy, but Hi-Chew sets the bar high for many others of its kind. Seemingly unassuming looking like a regular block of candy, the purple centre-filled with natural grape juice flavour sets it apart from the rest.

The Hi-Chew ice cream is essentially a grape-flavoured purple solero — an icy grape-flavoured shell encasing a soft grape ice cream. Apparently, it contains real fruit juice too, just like the original candy.
You can now find these sweet treats in 7-Eleven outlets across Taiwan. It’s not too much of a loss we can’t get these here yet, as I’m sure it wouldn’t be too long a wait. After all, we can now get our hands on boba milk tea ice cream after lamenting its exclusiveness to only being in Taiwan when it was first released.
