Perhaps the perfect pick-me-up, a cup of coffee is a great remedy for lethargy. Amidst the many sleepless nights spent studying for exams, caffeine may have very well been my salvation, helping me last through the rest of the day. Even now, a cup of kopi is my go-to in the morning. Good coffee is important, especially to someone who has decided to incorporate the humble beverage into their daily routine.

At Juparo Coffee, this notion is seconded. Nestled in the first floor of The Poiz Centre, this hip new cafe promises to do one thing right—their coffee. Made from coffee beans which are roasted in-house, each cup is brewed freshly, so you know you’re getting quality coffee.

Of course, food is served here too. You can look forward to brunch fare and a variety of mains, making this cafe a great spot for lunch or dinner as well. The Chicken Parmigiana (S$14.90) comes dressed in a blanket of mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce, all atop a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. If that’s not enough, the side of roasted greens, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes will be sure to give you your 5-a-day and fill up your tummy.

Bread lovers, fret not. The Smashed Avocado (S$15.90) is a perfect brunch option consisting of scrambled eggs and creamy avocado served on sourdough. This meat-free option is a perfect way to start your day, especially when paired with one of Juparo Coffee’s drinks.

And of course, how can I not talk about their drinks? If you’re looking for something new from boring old coffee and tea, order a Lavender Latte. Perfumed with the aroma of lavender, you’ll be swept off your feet with the gentle floral notes in your warm cup of coffee.

Although I’ve never been a cafe hopper myself, I might make the trip down to Potong Pasir sometime soon, simply for Juparo Coffee’s many menu offerings and creative drink options.
