New in town: Kimly Coffeeshop at Serangoon North has 24-hour noodle stall & dim sum

The people of Serangoon North are a lucky bunch— there were at least 4 kopitiams when I explored the neighbourhood’s town centre. Kimly Coffeeshop is the latest one that opened its doors to the public on 25 Nov 2022, providing additional eating options to nearby residents.

This particular Kimly Coffeeshop branch is blessed with their 24-hour dim sum stall, which features over 50 items on their menu— talk about being spoiled for choice!

From steamed snacks such as Prawn Chee Cheong Fun (S$2.20) and Spinach Dumpling (S$2.20) to delectable fried items like Bean Paste Sesame Ball (S$1 per piece) and Fried Yam Dumpling (S$1 per piece), you can have a sumptuous dim sum feast at any time of the day.

Starting out from 2010 at a hawker centre in Toa Payoh, Chao Yuan Noodle has gradually expanded to various locations in Singapore.

Apart from selling their Signature Dried Mee Sua (S$6.80) and Signature Liver (S$5), this 24-hour branch also has Handmade Fishball Noodles (S$5.30), Handmade Meatball Noodles (S$5) and Laksa (S$5)— guaranteed to satisfy all noodle connoisseurs.

Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle, famed for their springy egg noodles and delicious bowls of wanton mee, also has a branch here. Outside of their quintessential Signature Wanton Noodle (Dry/Soup) (S$4) and Dumpling Noodle (Dry/Soup) (S$4.50), the menu also offers Chicken Feet Noodle (Dry) (S$4.50), Fried Dumpling (S$4.50) and Dry Wanton (S$4.50).

This next stall may be one of the pricier establishments at Kimly Coffeeshop, but if you’re a mentaiko-obsessed individual like me, I’m sure you’ll be willing to indulge a little at Mentai King. Try their Mentai Pork Cutlet (S$8.90), Mentai Tiger Prawn (S$9.90) or Mentai Beef Cube (S$9.90).

Be treated to a spectacle as the meats are expertly flame torched right in front of your eyes, exuding a smoky umami taste from the pollack roe— be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes during peak hours though.

Hua Zai Hong Kong Style Roasted Delight has a wide selection of roasted meats for sale. They include roasted duck, soya sauce chicken, roasted pork, char siew, sausage, and even suckling pig.

Take your pick from their delicious array of dishes like Smoked Duck Noodle (S$4.50), Char Siew Noodle (S$4.30) and their special Mala Three Treasure Noodle (S$5).

You can find various Western offerings and Japanese fusion creations being sold at Tori Go! I also spotted He Feng Seafood which sells an assortment of zi char dishes and seafood mains.
