If you’re still bummed about not being able to travel, this piece of news is for you. Legendary Hong Kong has officially opened its second outlet at Funan Mall. West siders can attest to them being the only establishment in Singapore’s that’s akin to an authentic Hong Kong Char Chan Teng.
Unlike their main outlet in Jurong Point, the Funan outlet will not have the full menu available, however, they will be pushing out yummy bowls of Cart Noodles (from S$2), Toast (from S$4.50), HK-style Sandwiches (from S$3.50), and more.
The unique restaurant also mimics the narrow streets of Hong Kong (that’ll definitely chase the travel blues away when dining in). Keeping up with tradition, their Cha Chaan Teng comes with shrimp-filled wontons as opposed to the pork-filled ones that are commonly found in Singapore.
The Funan outlet also carries a slew of Tea. Expect to find Traditional HK-style Milk Tea In Bottle (from S$5.20) to HK-style Tea & Coffee Mix (from S$2.80). Talk about a caffeine overload, huh? Another fun fact: Legendary Hong Kong blends their own tea in Hong Kong before shipping it over to Singapore, to add on to the authentic feel.
Personally, street food screams comfort at all levels. So, Legendary Hong Kong opening up their second outlet away from the West, makes it super accessible for me, a lazy Eastie, to get my HK fix without complaining throughout.
