Cool Down With Local Coffee People’s Chendol Drink This Summery July

Local Coffee People have taken the daily brew to the next level. Of course, they’re known to create extraordinary combinations of tea and coffee in the busy downtown.

Standing at five outlets, this coffeeshop makes sure that the office residents downtown get their dose of caffeine before work begins. They’ve kept their prices affordable so that consumers don’t feel the pinch in the otherwise atas CBD.

In this month of July 2019, the team have created yet another majestic drink that has regulars coming back for more. Taking a twist on a local favourite dessert, presenting the Chendol (S$3.80). 

A spanking new banner sits outside their Capital Square outlet, promoting their newest creation. The Chendol drink sports coconut milk, the iconic green jelly and grass jelly, sitting atop the brown sugar base.

I like how they’ve subtly hopped on the brown sugar wave with a local rendition of a popular local dessert. The coconut milk was rich and nutty. Do remember to stir it up to enjoy the full flavour of chendol!

Although it was missing the starchy texture of red beans, overall it’s definitely a refreshing pick-me-up for the afternoon break in the CBD.
