I’m sure everyone has heard of Nando’s Singapore. A South African restaurant chain specialising in Portuguese-African cuisine, Nando’s is known for its PERi-PERi chicken dishes. With over 1000 outlets in 35 different countries, this creative and thoughtful South African brand name has captured the hearts of many.
Nando’s doesn’t just pride themselves on their PERi-PERi chicken—they take the time to acknowledge the people who work for them and the communities they touch. Giving credit to their 1400 partner farmers in 18 growing regions, Nando’s is here to thank them for their dedication and hard work over the years.
Nando’s Singapore has recently announced on their Facebook page that they’re giving back to the community during this ‘Circuit Breaker’ by handing out 300 free meals per day to the less fortunate, every day until 1 June 2020.
They’ve emphasised that these meals are only to support those in need during these trying times. Nando’s will be giving out 50 support meals (per day for each restaurant) at six outlets across Singapore for takeaway:
- Bugis Junction Shopping Mall
- NEX Shopping Mall
- Plaza Singapura Shopping Mall
- Tampines Mall
- Tanglin Mall
- The Star Vista
All you have to do is ask for a “Support Meal” at their doors from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, and you will receive their popular set meal of one-quarter of a chicken main with a side of Mediterranean rice.
Verification is not needed to collect your meal, but please do not head down just for a free meal if you don’t truly need it. Each person can only redeem one meal a day, while stocks last.
Nando’s will also be collaborating with local welfare organisations to distribute meals to vulnerable communities such as the elderly and disabled. Feel free to contact Nando’s Singapore via email to coordinate your requests for the free support meals.
Remember to stay considerate and only collect the free meal if you really need it. Let’s show our gratitude for Nando’s for coming up with this initiative and get through this Circuit Breaker together as a nation!
