For those friends experiencing FOMO and unable to visit Japan during the sakura season, fret not! Malaysia is hosting its very own Sakura Festival this April and May at Lalaport BBCC, promising to whisk you away to Japan with a variety of activities. The festival will run from 7.30pm onwards on weekdays and from 4pm to 10pm on weekends.

From 20 Apr to 19 May 2024, Lalaport BBCC is poised to offer a genuine cherry blossom encounter in Malaysia with an innovative light projection mapping by NAKED, INC., a renowned Japanese brand specialising in immersive audio-visual art experiences. This event also marks their debut in Malaysia. So, get ready to witness the enchanting sakura falls right in the heart of KL!

Note that this blooming wonder will be situated precisely at Wow Plaza (ground floor) and Central Rooftop Garden (level 4).

During the event, you’ll encounter a variety of Japanese-themed workshops. Guests can engage in either mask painting or sakura origami art workshops with a minimum purchase of RM100. These workshops will be held every weekend from 2 pm to 8 pm.

Alternatively, you can explore the weekend bazaar and dive into the fun of games. Take a leisurely walk to enjoy enchanting illuminations and sample delicious food at the bazaar from 4 pm to 10 pm. You can also access all 6 interactive games for just RM10 and claim your special gift upon completion!

To enhance the excitement, there will be diverse performances featuring special guests like the Japanese girl band AKB48, Malaysia’s newest Japanese rock girl group HOSHI-NO-OKA, amongst other talented artists.
