Looking to get a taste of Japan without leaving Singapore? Look no further than SUN with MOON Japanese Dining & Cafe. From now till 2 Nov 2026, the restaurant at Wheelock Place will showcase over 20 dishes inspired by all 7 prefectures of Kyushu with its Kyushu’s Finest menu. Its lunch service runs from 11.30am – 2.45pm while dinner service runs from 5.30pm – 9.30pm.

The menu has been curated in celebration of Kyushu and features regional specialities from Fukuoka, Oita, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima. There’ll be many delicious dishes to savour, from A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and Kagoshima Buri to black garlic tonkotsu ramen, hot pots and Japanese desserts.

Facing choice paralysis over such a huge range of choices? I would go for the Kyushu Grand Bento, as it lets you try a range of different dishes. This costs S$39.80 during lunch and S$44.80 during dinner.
The bento has Kagoshima Buri, Buta Kakuni, Mentaiko Chawanmushi, Kumamoto Fire Roll, Kumamoto Taipien Spring Roll, fresh sashimi and Nagasaki Champon. I like that I get to experience different textures and flavours, moving between seafood, slow-cooked meats, hot dishes and regional staples all in 1 meal.
But wait, what’s a meal without dessert? The lunch option will be accompanied by strawberry ice cream, while the dinner option will come with Yame Matcha Mont Blanc.

If you’re craving something punchy and savoury, I recommend their Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen (S$17.80). This dish has roasted black garlic oil infused in rich tonkotsu broth, creating a deeply savoury, umami-rich ramen.

If you love fish, their Kagoshima Buri & Salmon Nabe (S$26.80) is worth trying. Mature buri, known for its rich, buttery flavour, is paired with salmon and vegetables in a comforting agodashi broth. The result is a warm hot pot that lets the flavours of the fish shine through.

Finish off your hearty meal with the Sun-Kissed Mango Parfait (S$14.80). The main star of this dessert is golden mango, which appears as fresh slices, smooth puree and sherbet. But that’s not all; there are strawberries, whipped cream, shiratama dango and granola.
