The Pine Garden has outdone itself again! In hopes of making old favourites shine anew, it has managed to reimagine the beloved White Rabbit Candy with the all-new, limited edition White Rabbit Cake (S$4.50 per slice, S$38 for a 0.5kg cake).
The White Rabbit Cake was released as part of their Mother’s Day promotion; however, The Pine Garden will still be selling this particular creation for some time. It’s quite popular too — when I tried to purchase it on a Monday morning, it was sold out at two of their five outlets!
The White Rabbit Cake is made from vanilla milk and is stuffed with milk cream. You find the White Rabbit candies studded atop every slice, and there are also little chunks of the candy in-between each layer of the cake.
All this results in a delightfully airy and spongey cake that is jam-packed with luxurious, creamy and milky flavour. The textural monotony is further broken up by the little chewy chunks of candy that imparts a milky-sweet, nostalgic flavour. I really couldn’t stop myself from eating, and the only regret that I had was not buying a whole cake!
I particularly appreciated how the cake was sweet, yet wasn’t too cloying. With the amount of cream and candy that goes into every slice, you might expect every bite to be bursting with saccharine sweetness.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that The Pine Garden has taken this into account when moderating the sweetness of their White Rabbit Cake.
You should definitely try this cake out, and maybe buy a few slices for your family and loved ones! You might have to come a little earlier though, given how popular this nostalgic treat is.
