Featured eats include fresh seafood, regional desserts and local alcohol from the Tohoku region in Northern Japan. This is a good opportunity for those wishing to try authentic high-quality Japanese cuisine without going through the trouble of travelling there.

It is said that Japan’s finest rice comes from Akita Prefecture in Tohoku due to the fertile soil, optimal climate and clean mountain water. Used in many Japanese dishes, Akita rice is prized for its sweetness and chewiness. Every grain is milled upon order, all the way to Singapore for you.

Try it for yourself at the Tohoku Fair with 1kg of 1st Grade Brown Rice for S$8 (U.P S$8.90) and 2kg/5kg of White Rice (U.P. S$16/S$38.50) for S$14.50/S$34.50.

Mikiko Watanabe, daughter of the Akitaya rice farming family, will be in Singapore alongside Makoto-Ya, the trusted distributor of premium Japanese Rice for rare insight into their process.
