World Cucumber Day is back again, with its initiation brought about by English cucumber growers in 2011 to recognise the versatility of this fruit. For the third year in the row, Hendrick’s Gin will be celebrating World Cucumber Day by allowing all of you to exchange a cucumber for a glass of Hendrick’s & Tonic on 14 June 2019!
Hendrick’s Gin has been celebrating this day in honour of how the fruit plays an imperative part in providing its unique flavour. Its distillation process includes an infusion of rose and cucumber. This results in a smooth gin that is light on the palate yet bold in taste.
Whether it is a thin slice of the fruit or a thick wedge, it’ll definitely round off the cocktail well.
This year, there will be 42 participating bars accepting cucumbers instead of the usual cash and cards during ‘Cucumber Hour’, which is a perfect twist to the usual ‘Happy Hour’.
The participating bars include &SONS, 79 After Dark Restaurant & Bar, Anti:Dote, Artemis, Aura, BeGin @ Boat Quay, Ce La Vi, COSMO Restaurant & Wine Bar, Don Ho, Dragon Chambers, ERWIN’S Gastrobar, Grey Gin Bar, Horse’s Mouth, Martini Bar – Grand Hyatt, Idlewild, Jekyll & Hyde, KPO, Le Coq, Bar on 5 – Mandarin Orchard, Mischief, Miss G’s, Mitzo, Monarchy, Oxwell & Co, Potato Head, PS Café – Fullerton, Que Pasa, Rookery – Capitol Tower, Rookery – Hong Leong Building, Six Senses, Skai, 1864 – Sofitel Singapore City Centre, SOS Bar, Southbridge, Sum Yi Tai, Tess Bar & Kitchen, The Winery, Timbre X @ The Arts House, Timbre X @ The Substation, Wan, Yellow Pot Bar, and Redtail.
