Now this is a meal my GPA can definitely afford. Yu Xia Ge is serving up Big Prawn Noodles at S$1.80 — yes, you read that right — and this isn’t a ‘scam’ or a gimmick. The original price for their Big Prawn Noodles is S$10.80, but with their current promotion, it’s just S$1.80.

All you need to do is follow them on social media (TikTok, Facebook and Instagram), as well as opt for dine-in to be eligible. Do note that 1 customer can only redeem 1 bowl of Big Prawn Noodles.

Yu Xia Ge’s 3 main motivations for offering this S$1.80 Big Prawn Noodle promotion are to give back to their loyal customers, to support Singaporeans with good food at affordable prices amidst rising costs, and to encourage new patrons to try out their restaurant. Well, it definitely worked!

After following their social media accounts on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, I enjoyed their Big Prawn Noodle (Soup) with 2 big prawns at just S$1.80, just like they advertised, there were no extra charges. The soup’s rich umami flavour went along well with the cooked noodles.

The cherry on top is the 2 big prawns, both fresh and springy. Best of all, the prawns are deshelled, so no need to dirty your hands. If you prefer a dry prawn noodles, fret not; there is also a dry version available.

If you need something more filling, Yu Xia Ge also has add-ons for their S$1.80 Big Prawn Noodle. Meat lovers, simply top up S$3.80 for 2 pork ribs, which adds up to S$5.60, still a good deal in this economy. If you’re a seafood lover like me and want that extra seafood flavour, Yu Xia Ge also has 7 pieces of lala clams available as an add-on for S$2.

Besides their noodle dishes, try out their side dishes; some highlights include Ngoh Hiang (S$5.80) and Crispy Tofu (S$3.80), both fried to perfection and not jelak.

With this unbeatable price, head down to Yu Xia Ge and try their Big Prawn Noodles out for yourself at just S$1.80.
