The eateries at 106 Clementi are beautifully decorated, each serving wallet-friendly food that will be sure to impress your date. We paid a visit to 106 Clementi and were blown away by their incredible offerings.
What I tried at 106 Clementi
We begin our journey at Buttercake & Cream (#01-52), a quaint hidden gem that has been around since 2008. This beautiful restaurant is decked out in rustic decor, with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
Buttercake & Cream offers a S$16.90+ set lunch, which includes a Soup of the Day, your choice of a main and a dessert— enjoy a delicious and complete Western meal that soothes your stomach while not burning a hole in your pocket.
Whet your appetite with some homemade soup served with garlic bread, perfect for dipping.
Be spoilt for choice as you pick from 6 mains, including the creamy Seafood Bisque with Croissant, savoury Ocean Prawn Aglio Olio and indulgent Wagyu Beef Sandwich with Truffle Fries. Each freshly made dish is packed full of flavour and generous in portions— we were blown away by the amount of ingredients scattered throughout all dishes!
The desserts at Buttercake & Cream are not to be missed either. Each set lunch includes a scoop of housemade ice cream, though you can opt to top up S$4.90+ for a slice of homemade cake.
Next up is Little Part II Cafe (#01-38)— if this name sounds familiar, perhaps you’ve heard of their first project, Little Part 1 Cafe, located along Blair Road. Little Part II Cafe is run by the same owners and offers a similarly delectable menu full of dishes made using locally-sourced ingredients.
Little Part II Cafe has a huge selection of food, with their Ultra-Thin Pizzas being one of the most popular choices. Funghi Bianco (S$28) is a delicious pizza topped with mushrooms, spinach, truffle oil, feta and mozzarella cheese— the thin and crispy pizza base allows for the umami flavours of the cheese and mushrooms to shine.
Dig into the Spicy Seafood Linguine (S$25) if you’re craving some pasta. Each strand of linguine is coated nicely with spicy marinara sauce, and a generous amount of juicy mussels wait to be cracked open.
Enjoy draft beers from Rye & Pint and Pink Blossoms, with selections like Sunday’s (Pilsner), Star Gazin’ (Session IPA) and Lean On Me (New England Pale Ale). They also have seasonal specials to look forward to. Regular prices range from S$13 to S$15 for 330ml (half pint) and S$15 to S$17 for 470ml (full pint). Celebrate the weekend early with their Local Thursday Promotion, in which all local drafts go for just S$12 nett per full pint all day on Thursdays.
Take note that Little Part II Cafe will be closed from 9 to 15 Feb 2024 for Chinese New Year.
If you’re in search of some of the best meat and seafood dishes in the West, Mariner’s Corner (#01-40/41) is the perfect place to drop by. This cosy restaurant was previously situated at Cantonment Road in Maritime house, and is decorated to resemble a vintage American restaurant, with autographed posters and old-school vinyls and trinkets adorning the space— the perfect spot if your date loves all things classic.
A delicious dish to try is the N.Z. Ribeye Steak (S$28++), which is served on a hot plate with a baked potato, buttered veggies and a choice of 4 sauces: Black Pepper, Mushroom, Garlic Shallot or BBQ. The steak is tender and juicy, and is made even more flavourful when dipped into the sauce.
You must try the signature Braised N.Z. Lamb Shank (S$25++), served with mashed potatoes and buttered veggies— the lamb meat is incredibly tender and falls apart easily, while the rich and savoury sauce pairs perfectly with it.
To make your meal even more satisfying, simply top up S$5.80++ to any main course to enjoy a bowl of salad, soup of the day, garlic bread, coffee or tea, and a dessert.
106 Clementi is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic yet affordable meal with someone. Each restaurant serves dishes of the highest quality, and offers a unique ambience to cater to your varying tastes.
