Cup stickers

We needed to brand our ice cream cups to make them more attractive. However, full cup printing wouldn’t be feasible, given each design requires a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of 30,000 pieces. Our rate of cup use is something like 400 cups/month; it would take us 75 months to clear all the printed cups. The volume was just not economical to order printed cups, as the storage space for the cups would be an expense not well utilized.

Our printer had a standard cut template at 6.3 X 2.9 cm, which would only cost me about 2 cents per sticker (printing 5,000 pieces) , thus I had to design in this dimension. My first choice would have been a round circle, but comparatively it would cost 10 times more at our volume.

Both designs were done in a white background as I wanted the sticker to blend in with the white cups instead of sticking out. I mainly used multiple fonts and typography for the Homemade Ice Cream sticker with primary themes of orange, pink, yellow, blue and brown to give it that signature colourful theme, yet blending nicely with white. It deviates from the traditional colours used in the MakeShake logo, but I was getting bored reusing that colour scheme.

The MakeFroyo design was done in 1 colour to provide a contrast of simplicity to MakeShake’s complex colours, but the common font was used as well as the vector yoghurt swirl to tie in the common brand elements. Same same but different.
