In Neo Soho Mall, Jakarta, get ready for a whole new dining experience – with penguins. Aptly named, Pingoo Restaurant has an aquarium within the premises, offering diners a chance to have their meal right beside cute penguins.
The space has a ‘beach shack’ theme, with rustic furniture and decor that will make you feel like kicking back and relaxing at the beach. The restaurant also offers a seafood-based menu to match the overall theme.
As part of their conservation efforts, the Jakarta Aquarium has set up this restaurant to educate people on the importance of penguin conservation.
If you think it’s just a gimmick, fret not. This restaurant is actually part of Taman Safari Indonesia’s re-population and breeding of Humboldt Penguins. The ones you see here are actually the third generation of the programme.
