Humble home-based bakery Twobakeboys that sold viral Thai milk tea crepe cake reopens as physical store in Shaw Plaza. Functioning as a unique 3-in-1 concept, one can find their main kitchen, cake cafe and newly-introduced baking studio in the same location.

After the contract lease in CT Hub 2 was completed, the decision to reopen in Shaw Plaza was supported their brand image of being a family-friendly based business. Until today, Twobakeboys’ crepe cakes have been best-sellers for regular consumption as well as special occasions including birthdays and anniversaries.

Twobakeboys also declared that they have never incorporated gelatin in their bakes. With this move, they hope to reach out to halal foodies in Singapore.

Popular options include Thai Tea and Lychee Rose Crepe Cakes (S$8.50 per slice). Those looking to purchase whole crepe cakes have a wider flavour range and I am sure the MSW Durian with Coconut Sauce (S$89 for 6-inches) or the Ondeh Ondeh (S$65 for 6-inches) would appeal to locals. Regardless of which flavour you choose, expect each cake slice to feature dozens of repeated layers of thin crepe and fresh cream. Many consumers enjoy them for its strong flavour without it being too jelak

They have also expanded their menu to include other bakes. Choices range from Creampuff Thai Tea (S$4.20) to French pastries such as Pain Au Chocolate (S$4) and even a Singapore-inspired flavour, the Chicken Rendang Pie (S$5.60)

A unique beverage menu has also been curated to pair with the delicate desserts. Some that stood out to me include the Orange Americano (S$7) and Yuzu Osmanthus Matcha (S$7.80)

The newly introduced baking studio has been garnering some attention by regular patrons of the dessert bar. Parents may enrol their children in one of their kid-friendly baking workshops, which are catered to 4- to 7-year-olds. Adhoc classes are also available for adults who wish to personally bake a cake for that special someone.

For crepe cake-loving Westies, the following news may particularly appeal to you! On 13 Apr 2023, they announced on their Instagram page that a new outlet will be opening in Clementi in Apr 2023. Stay tuned to more announcements from them on the exact opening day!
