This new spot along Neil Road gives me major throwback vibes to my Hong Kong trip years ago! Although bearing a different name, Friends Kitchen HK is the second outlet of the Hong Kong-inspired eatery, Friends Cafe HK.

Their name is not the only change that was made. A couple more amendments were carried out to attract and cater to the crowd in the vicinity.

While the design of the first outlet was designed to resemble the bustling and chaotic breakfast spots in Hong Kong, Friends Kitchen HK takes on a more modern approach.

There are 2 floors to the new eating house, and the first level is almost a replica of a casual Hong Kong fast food concept while the second incorporates more space and would make a desirable spot for evening dinners with cool air breezing in.

Undeniably, popular items of classic Hong Kong fast food found in the first cafe are also offered here. The names of these staples may ring a bell to some of us such as the Curry Fish Balls (S$5.60), French Toast (S$6) and Ham Macaroni (S$10).

Five Star Hong Kong Style Handmade Dimsum: Freshly made Cantonese-style dimsum hidden in an industrial building

The young couple behind the brand has thankfully thought of a HK-style zi char menu to suit the atmosphere. Ample dinner options are offered, such as the Braised E-Fu Noodles (S$13.60) and Eggplant with Salted Fish Pot (S$18.80)

Considering the large scale of the menu selections, it may be wiser to order a variety of dishes to share. This way, individuals can make the most out of the food options delivered.

Both common and unique Hong Kong beverages are also sold in the compound, such as Homemade HK Milk Tea (S$3.60) and Red Bean with Ice & Milk (S$4.60)

The restaurant officially opens on 26 Apr 2023, but both outlets will be closed on that day for a closed door event. Do not let out your sighs too soon, business will resume the next day on 27 Apr 2023!
