Southeast Asia is a food paradise, but the one cuisine that seems to be everyone’s favourite is Thai food. Spicy, savoury, or sweet, Thai cuisine checks all the boxes. Of course, nothing beats having a bowl of hot tom yum soup in the country itself, but the TukTuk Thai Food Fair is a close second. From 7 to 16 Jul 2023, this festival of food and fun will take place at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Cheras.

The best part is that you don’t have to worry about rearranging your packed weekend schedule. The event starts at 12pm and ends at 12am, which means you can just drop by after work. Instead of mindlessly scrolling through food delivery apps, make your way to TukTuk Thai Food Fair for dinner!

The fest is split into 2 sections: halal and non-halal, so there’s definitely something for everyone.

Not only does the fair feature over 300 varieties of Thai cuisine, visitors can also lounge around to watch their live performances that’ll take place everyday from 6pm to 11pm. They even have booths selling clothes and accessories, so feel free to browse around while waiting for that plate of pad thai to digest— you obviously can’t leave after just 1 round of food, right?

If you’re just there for some light snacks, they have a wide selection of skewers to choose from. You should also check out the raw, marinated seafood like crabs and salmon slices. Of course, what’s a Thai food fest without some jumping shrimp, also known as Goong Ten

For those who’ve never tried fried insects before, now’s your chance— they’re said to be highly nutritious and protein-rich! Need something a little meatier? Go for some whole fried frogs.

Be quick and drop by while the fest is still up and running!
